Meet our Manager

Clare has worked in care for over 14 years, with experience in dementia and complex needs care. She joined Field House because she believes care works best in a small setting where she can know every resident personally — their routines, their preferences, what makes them laugh.

She operates an open-door policy. If you have a question, a concern, or just want to talk about how your loved one is settling in, Clare is available. No gatekeepers, no call-backs from head office. Just a straight conversation with the person responsible for your family member's care.

The care sector is constantly evolving, particularly with the fast-moving changes within the CQC framework. Clare is committed to continuous improvement, ensuring that she always strives to provide the highest standards of care.

Living at Field House

Field House has been a care home for over 40 years — originally founded by a local GP, and now owned and operated by Curaa, a family-run care company focused entirely on the quality of community we build for our residents.

We are a small home by design. Our team knows every resident personally, and our managers have a genuine relationship with every person living here. That is not a tagline — it is the point of everything we do.

We provide residential care, specialist dementia care, and support for complex conditions including Parkinson's, bariatric needs, and continence management. We also welcome short stays and respite — our dedicated respite room can be booked in advance or at short notice.

Field House is an elegant Edwardian residence on a quiet street in Harpenden — oak-panelled lounge, original fireplace, ornate ceilings, and secluded gardens with shady pergolas for the warmer months. It is not a purpose-built facility. It looks and feels like a home because it was one.

Our food is made with love and our care is delivered with purpose. Residents eat well, choose how they spend their time, and are supported to maintain as much independence as possible.

Come and pay us a visit anytime you wish - you do not need a booking.
